About Us

Mission Statement

Creating community through trauma-informed theatre, we strive to provide a safe space for connection, creative expression, trauma informed storytelling, and collaborative performances. We provide a stage that honors each person's voice and lived experience, promoting pathways for community outreach, healing, and mindfulness. Through this holistic approach to community wellness, we combat the labels that bind us and can no longer hold us.

About Us

We are a community-centered theatre organization dedicated to supporting individuals from all walks

of life through the transformative power of creativity, connection, and shared storytelling. Rooted in the

belief that every person deserves spaces that nurture dignity and self-expression, we use theatre arts as a pathway toward emotional healing, cognitive renewal, and meaningful social bonds.

Our programs are shaped by research showing that creative practices - such as acting, movement, improvisation, and storytelling - can stimulate neuroplasticity, helping the brain form new pathways that support resilience, emotional regulation, and a sense of agency. In our workshops, participants engage in activities that encourage imaginative thinking, stress reduction, and self-discovery. These exercises aren’t just artistic; they’re therapeutic experiences that promote mental well-being and offer tools for navigating trauma and life transitions.

Just as importantly, theater builds community. By collaborating on scenes, sharing personal narratives, and supporting one another’s artistic growth, participants form trusting relationships that counter isolation and foster belonging. Our rehearsal rooms become spaces where diverse voices are honored, where laughter and vulnerability coexist, and where people can practice communication, empathy, and teamwork in ways that ripple beyond the stage.

Together, we create art that reflects the strength, creativity, and humanity too often overlooked. Our work is guided by the belief that storytelling can heal, connection can empower, and every individual’s voice has the power to transform not only their own life but the lives of those around them.

Why We Care

Communities don’t fall apart all at once - and they don’t heal all at once either.

The images you see here tell a story we witness every day in Fort Collins: a community under strain, and the powerful transformation that happens when people reconnect. On one side, isolation, distrust, trauma, and disengagement fracture the social fabric. On the other, connection, creativity, empathy, and shared purpose light it back up.

We care because social health is as real as physical health.

When trust erodes, participation drops. When stories go unheard, people disconnect - especially those experiencing homelessness and individuals navigating trauma or recovery. Left untreated, these fractures spread quietly through neighborhoods, schools, and families.

But we’ve also seen the opposite.

Through theatre, storytelling, and shared creative experiences, people begin to re-engage. Conversations reopen. Empathy grows. Networks reconnect. What once looked like a fragmented system starts to function again - stronger, brighter, and more resilient.

Our Community Outreach Theatre exists because art is not decoration - it’s intervention.

We use theatre as a form of social recovery:

  • To rebuild trust where it’s been broken

  • To create safe spaces for expression and healing

  • To reconnect isolated individuals to a living, breathing community

  • To turn spectators into participants, and participants into advocates

The progress doesn’t happen overnight. Like the recovery monitor shows, it takes time, commitment, and collective effort. But the trajectory is clear: when creativity leads, communities heal.

We care because a connected community isn’t just healthier - it’s more compassionate, more engaged, and more capable of caring for everyone within it.

And we believe that transformation starts when people are seen, heard, and invited back into the story.
